Whilst recognising that there may be some who baulk at my enquiring as to a replica within the "Classic" forum, I hope most will tolerate such incursion if only due to the style and rig of the vessel concerned.

I am trying to find the name and URL for a company that used to (and may still), take the basic Cornish Crabber Pilot Cutter and "add-value" to it by giving it a very high quality makeover both on deck and internally. Lots of brightwork and teak from what I remember. They may be a Dutch or Danish company; I can't remember!

Might any reader be able to help please? Thank you
 
There is a link to them somewhere in this forum as they were builders of another well known brand of sailing yacht which name now escapes me. Grey cells............... whats the point. If It comes to me i will post a reply if not someone will be there before me. pretty sure it was dutch or flemish.
 
I think, but may be completely wrong, that Libby Purvis' Pilot Cutter "Grace O'Mally" was fitted out in the way you suggest.
The answer may, or may not, be in her book "One Summer's Grace"

But, forgive me, if you want to do up a boat like that you could buy a used Heard 28 and have it fitted out to suit. It would be much cheaper to buy and would be the "Real Thing" !

Yes, Herringchoker, having checked the book, it was indeed Robertson's of Woodbridge (a very fine emporium in my opinion).

Further to the initial reply, I too think the company in mind was either Flemish, Danish or Dutch.

Hopefully someone will totter along with a memory in better order than mine!

You could, of course ask Cornish Crabbers. Some of the original people are still there - see the current series of articles in PBO.
