Cork Sands

Just in case other aren't aware of it (I wasn't) the multiple shallow points of cork sands seem to have shifted south (or filled in). The charted gaps between certainly don't have the expected water.
Sailing through there yesterday there should have been over a meter of water below the keel even allowing for high pressure. Reality was 2/10 of naf all. Could have been a sticky moment.

Very interesting.

I note there was a professional survey last year I think from Harwich down to the Colne Bar. I wonder if I dare ask the UKHO if there is any info. HW Walton yesterday was a little lower than predicted (0.08m).

My gut feeling is it has all shifted south. We passed over the northern most drying part (rising tide) with 0.4 under the keel (2mtr draft). 40 minutes later, still rising tide I couldn't get through the gap between most southerly and the next northern one. Day before I aborted attempt to go through gap between most northerly and next one when depth hit 0.3 under keel. Should have had 1.5mtr. Seems something is certainly on the move around there.
