Just bought a moody 419 in Corfu and will be taking it to Barcelona about the 4 August. I have 3 Weeks to get there due to the constraints of work. Would appreciate comments on the time scale and of any good stop off points.

thats a bloody long way

If you can get the right crew I think best way would be three passages with a breaks for a few days in sardinia and sicily IMHO. you'll need lots of fuel if there's no wind.

i wd think 3 weeks is enough, but would get moving. As it's a new boat it might be an idea to hug the coast all the way along. You are going from greece across to the coast of italy, so a good place to stop off would be umm, France, anywhere between the Italaina Border and Marseilles. Then don't stop off any more until Barcelona. Careful across that golfe de lions, hug the coast so you can nip in, right old kicking even just a miles or two offshore. B ut don't hug the shore S of the rhone cos it is a bit shallow. And if you run aground, some of the beaches are mandatory nudy beaches, ahem.

seriously there is loads to see, and your delivery trip won't give you time.

After the crossing of the Straits of Ottranto you might want to stop off at Brindisi. The re-fuelling and berthing there is very easy but you just might just get tempted to tarry on one of the piazzas and take in the odd (& excellent) restaurant there.
Further west is new territory to me but my neighbour knows the track westwards from Sicily very well. I'll see if he will post.

Careful about refuelling in Sicily. I have read of people having their tanks filled with water. Admittedly a long time ago.

I would have thoought that three weeks would be loads of time for doing it. Why not take in Sardinia (Porto Cervo - costs a packet though) and the west coast of Corsica? From there you have 2-3 day sail.
