For the Southampton Boat Show, I am being asked for £255 for a single 13A socket!
As we only need power for carpet cleaning at the end of each day, a rechargeable (preferable 12v so we can use it on the boat afterwards) seems an alternative.

My experience of cordless cleaners is that they lack "oomph".

Any recommendations please?

Do not buy the Hoover 6v rechargeable - it's carp.

Black and Decker Dustbuster, then take it home and recharge each day.

Try Dyson Hand held - expensive circa £100 but you can get a 12 Volt charger
+1 - Got one of them - good suction (for a battery driven model) and runs 15~20 mins on a full charge. Has different attachments which are handy.

We use a RYOBI 18v vacuum cleaner, great bit of kit, beauty of using one of these is that you can get a 12v charger for the batteries and the same batteries can be used in the Ryobi range of 18v tools, great on the boat.

Judging by the electricity charge, the stand itself must be costing you multiple arms and legs. I'm surprised that floor vacuuming is not included, as it always has been at exhibitions in Dublin's RDS during the many occasions that I have had stands there. Check with the exhibition organisers. If negative why not come to an arrangement with one of the people who are paid minimum wage to vacuum the aisles every day.

Bought the cordless dyson mainly to use down the boat, its pretty good, runs for approx 12/5 mins on std power and 5/6 mins on full power, comes with long handles with rotating brushes etc, 225 pounds iirc
Not sure of model but its the one with lots of purple bits!, animal possibly?, have tried other makes and they were quite frankly ****.
Dont get me wrong its far from perfect but i bought it as a bloke at work had used one very day for the best part of 3 years around his house and caravan and reckoned it was pretty good.
Just looked on ebay its the DC44 model, think we got it from argos.
