Cordless or 12v hoover to seal vacuum bags?

We really like using vacuum bags for packing away spare bedding and clothes. It keeps damp out and greatly reduces the volume of things like duvets.
Our household hoover has no problem sucking the air out of these bags, but so far we haven't found a boat-friendly hoover that can do this onboard.
We have (or had- it just died) a handheld cordless Dyson which, whilst it seems quite powerful, is not up to the task. The dinghy pump in 'suck' mode can't do it either.
I see Makita do an 18v hoover, I like all my Makita toys so am tempted to add another to the collection...

Thanks Vyv, I was using a foot bellows pump. I'll get a stirrup pump and give that a go.

I keep said bags largely full of air as there is then no inclination for damp air to get drawn into the bag.

My lungs work a treat once the bulk of the air has been squeezed out.

I don't know if it would be up to vacuum bagging but we are very pleased with our Makita hoover. Perfect size for the boat and the 5AH batteries last forever

Our Dyson DC59 cordless does it just fine.
