Cor Crowded Crouch

Maybe it's because we sail all through the winter and have been spoiled for space, but.. the Crouch felt blimmin' crowded on Sunday! Needed eyes in back of head to avoid/keep clear of speeding mobos, jet skiiers, water-skiers, dinghy racers, rowing boats, yachts gybing and tacking and loonie fishermen anchored slap bang in the middle of the channel.

Made intereresting people watching. I nearly had a Dylan moment (shudders) when we stopped for lunch and a passing speeding boat made us spill the wine.... but reigned myself in before I started letting it crimp my day.

Interesting, apart from the Sail East regatta yesterday, the Black water was quiet yesterday.

Not at St Lawrence Bay.. Was like Jet-Ski fest. Complaints, Coastguard.. All pretty busy.

I'm not surprised you found it crowded. Everything mechanised that floats was outward bound from Fambridge marina on Sunday ! Those that stayed seemed intent on burning in the sun, (not me I hasten to add).

It was mayhem on the Crouch on Sunday. There seemed to be a bunch of large MoBos rafted in the little creek on the SE tip of Bridgemarsh Island and I suspect they were the source of many of the jet skis. Nice to see everyone enjoying the water, but peaceful it wasn't.
