Hi
We've used an Airmar log for years. Recently we noticed that there was a strip of transparent film which appeared to be stuck between the two O rings. We've never noticed it before as it was so flat but a corner had peeled up. Under the film looked to be a small copper strip built into the barrel of the log.
Does anyone know what this does? Can we remove the film as it may be snagging the through hull fitting when we insert it? It cannot be an electrical connector as there is nothing to connect to. We wondered if it is some sort of any-foul system. The Airmar manuals do not show it?
Thanks
Paul
