I'm having to refurbish my Bulflex coupling. To my surprise, the bolts all came undone with just enough of a struggle to show they were never going to come undone on their own, they certainly weren't rusted in.

When I put it all back together I don't want the bolts to rust in. Would a liberal application of copper grease make sure I can get them undone in the future, or would the copper react with the steel and sea water to cause corrosion and have the opposite effect?

copper is generally for hot applications
i would use Nylock nuts or a thread lock fluid like Loctite
