Copper coat antifoul and magic colour changes?

In the ST mag the copper coat advert shows two pictures:
prior to launch 1993 RED antifoul
as lifted 2003 BLUE antifoul

"As an anti-fouling we have been particularly impressed by Coppercoat's performance over the years and we would confidently recommend it"

Yachting Monthly magazine, after 8 year trial..


No doubt YM was so grateful fo rthe advertising revenue maybe they didn't worry about the dates or the colour of the photos?

Copper has a red / gold colour - when oxidised in air or water it takes on a blue / green patina.

I've got it on my yacht and it only took a months immersion for the colour change. Of course - it still does its work and will hopefully continue to do that for a decade.
