Thinking of investing in the CopperThing. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Does the 4 sq/mts of surface for 1 liter of produce stick to reality?
Any confirmation that for 3 - 4 years it stays O.K.?

Thank for any advice,
Cheers,
Gianenrico

put it on my dads pioneer 9 about ten years ago, for the first couple of years it was excellent, and most antofouls here in cumbria act like grow-more. In its third year it gradually got worse. sure things are better by now though .

Hi, I've been looking at the 'EU 45 antifouling paint' on the internet, it appears to be very easy to apply and the price is very good, have a look it may be of interest.

Do a shearch, there have been several threads on the subject. One word of caution though. I understand that the likes of Coppercote or Copperbot etc dont work so well in warmer waters.

I know of a motorsailer with a copper-epoxy bottom. He scrubs off a couple of times a year. No barnacles, just a thin growth of green weed, but nothing like the nature reserve I had with ordinary anti(?)fouling.

Very expensive to do, but cost effective over 10 years if you have to pay craneage to antifoul
