Copland Terrier

Hi, I’ve just bought a 22ft Copland Terrier. Hoping people can tell me about this manufacturer as there appears to be little information online. I only know they were built in the Isle of Wight in the 80’s. Any knowledge anyone has would be much appreciated! Thanks!

The Copland boats were designed by Uffa Fox so that's a good start - there was a range of 18, 20 and 24' Fox boats as I remember, the larger being the Fox Harrier ?

They seemed quite OK boats, but in those recession times there were loads of boatbuilders going under.

If as I recall fixed keel, transom hung engine and reasonably lightly built, maybe a bit unimaginative and prohibitively expensive to moor or berth in southern England now but I always had the impression they are good sailors' boats in reasonable weather.

I don't think there's any connection with the twin lifting daggerboard Fox Terrier by a different later firm but could be wrong...
