hi boys and girls,

either the make/model/spec. output and/or port size...

or if you have a spare or two lying around let me know.

cheers, steve.

As in vehicle engine water pump or raw water pump? If its for raw then asap do'em. Tho I think you'd be better of going to Johnson pumps instead.

thanks guys, with a part number i can check the specs, as i know what i'm looking for. but as barry mentioned the johnston (sp?) pumps look fine.

emailed asap and lancings, but too impatient to wait! so posted here.

Baz, have you had much dealing with exhaust outlets and non return valves?

i'm having some nice stainless ones made up and i'm not sure if i need to include a provision of a flap to prevent the following sea from cooling my exhaust valves??

byw. nice to hear from ya. best wishes, steve.

It's worth having them. I had the head wrecked on my boat thru exactly that and that was with a thru outdrive exhaust.
I'm currently marinizing another Ford Puma turbo. It doesn't or can't use the outdrive exhaust outlet and I've been told I need flaps on the out lets for just the reason you mention.
What oil coolers are you going to use on the FSD lumps?

not considered 'em... will i need them?

as for the flaps in the exhaust i was going to heve stainless flaps built in to the outlets, with the fulcrum sort of three quarters of the way up the outlet... whadda ya fink?

oohh stainless flaps noisey rattley You can get some nice ones off the shelf with rubber flaps. Should be a bit cheaper than custom made jobbies too.

Oil coolers. I'd say you'll need them. You've not got the air flow past the sump as you would have if it was in the road situation. Engines enclosed in a nice insulated box too! Anything over half throttle and it going to run warm oil wise.

thought about it after i'd posted. yes you're right.

not sure of the constuction of the sandwhich coolers, so i'm on the lookout for tubes i guess.... i'm going to raw water cool the lumps, so might have the option of introducing an oil cooler line straight into the sump.

these motors are ex van lumps and come at my favourite price.... free!, so replacement cost if one should fail is negligable.

probably a good time to suggest a chat over a pint?

I'll give you a call re the pint, twist my arm! Few issues since last year that are getting sorted. Looking like I'll be basing the boat in chichester this year, not 100% firm yet. Waiting on someone to say yay or nay about storage and slipping. I'll give you a call soon'ish

sounds like the ideal place to hold another "bash" not too far away for most of us.

might have to suggest it on the ad hoc thing!

Don't know about that.It seems a bit grim on that front. Not many decent watering holes at all, well if there is I've not found them yet!
