Cool toy

mmm, I got to admit of a dislike of jet skiers.... this is the next step and someone with one of these launching themselves up the Hamble or through a anchorage..... I might dust off my harpoon gun...

I've heard there's a weight limit and it'll never fly with you in it, ljs. Just squirt water up your backside:)

I spotted one a few months ago, it was attached/powered from a bespoke jet ski which made better sense for instruction.

It was hired by the hour £70 ish and you were given a guarantee of 'flight'.

The guy we watched was up and away in about 15 mins

I expect the jet ski will add another £15k to the price.

@ £70 an hour it would take a long time to pay for itself , especially as Insurance /fuel/wages need to be paid for. I suspect they are available much cheaper.

I really fancy a go on one of these in the summer. Thought they were approx £8k excluding the ski

There are 2 different devices being discussed here.

The first item was probably a stand alone jetlev device http://www.jetlev.com/#!/page_performance

The second item will be something like the flyboard from someone like Russell Powerboats. http://www.russellpowerboats.co.uk/product/flyboard-second-hand-sales/flyboard-3/

Henry :)

Thanks for pointing out the differences, Henry :D

Ive done a bit of research following your direction,

The Flyboards start @ £4100 ish which attach to any old jetski and need a second operator.

An additional £500 -£1000 adds a remote switch to the jet ski so the flyer can operate and the jetski follows.

There was a man trying one of these outside of Salterns Marina in Poole a couple of months back. He was just starting as we entered the Marina. We walked up to Lilliput and had a Fish and Chip meal. When, after a relaxing lunch, we left the marina he was still trying to get some lift. He seemed to spend most of his time racing around, rocket powered, horizontally about 6 inches below the surface. Very amusing to watch.
