Cool box to fridge on a Hunter Horizon 26

Don't know if it helps but on my little Ranger245 I slipped a Waeco CF18 where the navigators feet would (but never did) go.

I got one of those Waeco 'kits' that provide an evaporation plate and compressor which is remotely located. Having a wooden boat I had to construct a 'cool box' in which I fitted the evaporation plate. Very, very effective. And simple. Has a thermostat

I used a Waeco Cu55 compressor and a VD07 plate for an existing GRP coolbox of about 70 litres (the maximum coolbox size for them is 130 litres). A straightforward installation and it works well.

Can’t speak highly enough of the waeco cf range. A size to suit most requirements. Also branded as dometic.
Certainly not cheap but incredible in terms of ability, use ability and most noticeably, efficiency. Nothing will compare to it in terms of the latter.
I have one for the speedboat. I only have one battery on board at 75ah. Has to start the boat and run stereo and fridge. I have repeatedly left the fridge on all day and night, with it never bothering the battery. As long as it’s at set temp before stopping the boat, it’s incredible. Also has a variable battery protection ability and can freeze to -18.
A friend also has a larger model neatly sat in a pull out drawer in his galley. Amazing things.

Previous owner of my Horizon 26 did the same. Unfortunately he took it with him when he sold the boat to me, and replacements are expensive!
