I have a Force 10 cooker with the sort of burner ignition which works when you press in the burner control knob, and emits a series of clicks, or rather it dos'n't any more. I can't find any batteries or anything that seems to power it. Does anyone have any ideas about how to get this working again?

Slightly unrelated, and it looks like you have your answer but I have recently discovered that a great emergency lighter to have on board is a welder's spark. This is basically a flint attatched to an abrasive roller available from welder's suppliers at very little cost. When the matches & lighters fail it is still going to work!!

Can't find any batteries anywhere, and I have looked underneath. Il
I'll take it out and turn it over, but I have a feeeling that it might be one of those systems that works without batteries or external power. if anyone has a F10 cooker and knows the answer, please let me know. Taking the cooker out is a bu**er of a job!

Sounds to me as though the ignition on your cooker is piezo-electric which produces a spark via an electro-mechanical process and does not have a battery. Piezos always seem to make a click, so if yours is not clicking anymore, the problem must be either with that or the linkage to it.

We have a Force 10 cooker, the 4 burner model with oven and grill.
The battery sits in a plastic holder which is on the right front side underneath the oven. It is more or less hidden in the side panel where it is bent inward on the bottom end.

Jee, this is difficult to explain in words.
If you cant find it I can try to mail you a picture.
Send me a PM to let me know

cheers
