Conwy to St Marteen :)

I did post a few months ago asking what to expect on my trip and now the time has nearly come. 2 weeks sat I fly via cdg to St Marteen for 18 days of sailing around the islands with my bro in law on his beneteau. With me never ever been on a yacht before I am really looking forward to it now and hopefully will catch the bug and after a few lessons out there maybe try abit when I return, well thats my plan.
Anyone else ever done a long stint aboard on their first time?
