Am thinking of dispensing with current fixed arrangement and replacing with hydraulic / telescopic leg and getting an in fill cushion to connvert seating to an occasional berth.. Option 2 is to modify the fixed arrangement to make it removable / collapsable and fashion an infill that "hooks" onto existing seats. Marineteak seem to do the hydraulic leg for a table, but not sure if that would be up to the job...

Has anyone else done this, or similar and if so which way did you do it.

We have this arrangement - two heights of leg supporting the table. The tall one brings it level with the drawer unit so it is a table. The small one brings it level with the seating, with a cushion that sits between the fiddles making for an oversized double berth. Incredibly simple and low tech solution. Sorry, no pics to help you visualise.

Penguin engineering sell electric, gas lift and manual pedestals

yup penguin do barka pedestals. Timage.eu supply besenzoni and another brand whose name I forget ( using square tube for a contemporary look; I bought them for my current boat and they are azimut oem on their tables with square tubes). These all come in manual, gas and electric. Imp do a range with a slightly Dutch name ( forgotten it) but they are painful to order and I'd give them a miss

Sometimes to get the table low enough you need a 3 stage telescopic or you need the ped tube to go 6 inches below floor level. All these suppliers do these options

Thanks. Need to check the measurements next weekend as I have a feeling I'll need the 3 stage version as I dont want to have to go through the floor if i can help it but the barka / Penguin engineering ones do look more substantial..
