After two years of living aboard full time, we are starting to think that it's not complete decadence to upgrade to an electric heads. And ensuring that the heads gets a proper flushing every single time might extend the interval between servicing (a fancy term for bashing all the limescale off the pipes).
I know you can buy the Lavac pump but at ~£260 it's not cheap
AFAIK all I need is a 1 1/2" diaphragm pump, and it can sit in line with the manual one.
So would this one do instead?
Whale Gulper Grouper Mk 3 Fishbox Pump with 90° head

I converted my lavac head to electric with an electric diaphragm pump

Cannot remember which one but any 1 1/2" will do

I also fitted a time delay off switch set to ensure a long enough flush simply by pressing the button and walk away.

I did the same as Roger, i used a Jabsco waste pump, worked great.

I would avoid the 90 degree pump in post #1
