Beverley has signed a capex proposal off for installing an evaporator plate and compressor into our cool box.

A few questions.
Should the cool box just lift out?

I have tried to find out how our cool box is fitted.
I can easily lift the back up by an inch or so but the front appears to be fastened to the white melamine covered bulkhead behind the cooker. The bulkhead is loose
I can not see any fastners that hold the cool box down it just will not lift at the front possibly as a result of sticky expanding foam or sikaflex used to fix additional insulation?

If you have an evaporator plate in your cool box what sort of plate and size is used (flat or L shaped)? Volume approx 45 litres....

Did Hanse fit Waeco gear as their option for a fridge on the 301?

I am thinking of using one of these kits:
http://www.marinesuperstore.com/item/99176952/waeco-cu55-vd01-cooling-kit-box
I assume that the best place for the compressor would be low down in the locker adjacent to the Cooker and fridge with a vent for hot air

Is this were Hanse fitted them as standard?

Bluddy heck! a sit down and now a fridge! Whatever next?
Ours just has two holes big enough for the quick connects to go thru, these are sealed with stick gunge. The compressor is under the sink behind the waste bin with a big hole out for the warm air.

Evening councillor.

The admirable Mrs T had a fully plumbed sit down on Tamsin! She is managing without hot water still! It was good to go out and see The Beaumaris Fireworks without shivering using the Webastard and Conservatory for protection!

As you say I could drill it in place but I suspect there is virtually no insulation around the box. That will be a recipe for filling the bilges with condensation.

You might find this site a help with designing and building a system http://www.penguinfrigo.co.uk/shop/builder/

You can fill in the sizes and it will calculate the Volume and tell you what you need to build it. Obviously they would like you to buy the bits from them, but I found the site useful last winter when I did exactly what you are contemplating with my boat. When I made mine I used a small oval type bin evaporator which a kind forumite gave me. I put a divider and shelf in it so can keep frozen stuff under shelf and in freezer, and with a divider between the two use the fridge for Fresh stuff.
The key to a good installation is , Insulation, Insulation, Insulation.
I also used a Air Thermostat rather than a regular Evaporator thermostat which was suggested by Penguin. It is more suitable for my instalation along with two Digital Temperature Gauges so I can monitor the temps in fridge and freezer, in an effort to maintain the correct temps in both.
I did find though that I had to strip out the galley back to the carcase in an effort to get the insulation in.

I have no knowledge of your particular boat, or its method of fitting out so wish you luck with your stripping out and installation project.

I will say it has transformed my weeks away cruising, without the need to go shopping every day, and eating out of tins, and there is always Ice for the G & T's
and was well worth all the effort, even if the cabin did look like " Santa's Grotto " at one stage after cutting loads of Celotex sheets
