I've recently had the opportunity to purchase a Mercury 15hp outboard engine for my Dell Quay Dory that has a steering console but the engine has a tiller.

Is there anyway to convert the engine from a tiller control to a remote control so that it will work with the steering unit on the boat?

Yes. You can buy a Merc or aftermarket conversion kit. The engine casting is ready-prepared to accept a small tiller that the steering cable will attach to, and throttle and shift cables can be attached (the details depend on engine series and age). It's not a particularly cheap exercise though
