Before anyone directs me to do a search or try Google - I have.

Am looking for info on the Contessa 43 - could not find a thing. Were lots of them built (think not), how did they sail, known problems, usefull links, etc...

Checked the YM A-Z review - it's not even in there!

Many thanks

What on earth did you google on?, it turned up loads. The fact that one won the Admirals cup might point towards a fairly good racing and cruising boat?

"In 1977 and 1979 he and his crew competed as members of the British Admirals Cup Team, and in '77 not only did the team win, but Jeremy's Contessa 43, Moonshine, was the top scoring boat! The notorious Fastnet Race of 1979 rendered the Admirals Cup of that year understandably insignificant, but Jeremy's Contessa 39, Eclipse, came in second overall to Ted Turner's Tenacious, a yacht twice her size! The following year he received his MBE from the Queen at Buckingham Palace."

I copied and pasted the above from a Jeremy Rogers website that I found using the metacrawler 'searchy.co.uk' - pulls in info from a number of engines - not just Google - worth a try.

That's the performance side sorted!

Everything's with the insurance right now - got an estimate, got a yard that could have the work done by early May at the latest.... Hope the insurance is as good as they claim to be.

Re selling Yanita - don't want to sell her, but after our mishap Mrs Yanita & crew are starting to think she just might be bad luck. Also, I have had an offer on her that just might be too good to refuse. In view of the crew's position I have difficulty in finding reasons not to accept it.

After 3 years of blood, sweat & tears (+ a load of money) she's as I want her to be. For me she was love at first sight, for the family (apart maybe my youngest) she's just another boat. Should we sell Yanita - at least everyone agrees we should get another boat.

Will keep you posted
