I am sick to death of hearing about CO32 and CO26 what about the CO28 why is it not talked about! I have sailed all 3 boats and the 28 is worth talking about?
Is there a CO28 association does anybody know? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Not just the CO28 but the CO27 it's sucsessor laterly known as the MG(C)27

Not sure how many Boat types JR actually built under the Contessa name but it's only the 32 & 26 that seem to have achived "Cult" status which is a pity as my MGC 27 is a cracking boat to sail

I am sick to death also! I own a T31 which is just as fast to wind and has beaten the CO32 in some prestigious races. But the CO32 was liked by the females as well as the men and so unlike my missus, they were happy to be on board. They sold so many, it can only be because the missus liked them.
Seriously, They are a great boat boat and the 28 does not compare in performance terms. The 26 will always be popular as small boat as it is in fact a GRP folk boat and you can't get many smaller boats much better than can you?
Interestingly, many years ago a an agent for ancasta in Falmouth was trying to sell me a CO32 and he mentioned the designer being jeremy Rogers and I ended up having an argument with him telling him how wrong he was. ( as we know it was David Sadler) How do they get in to the wrong job?

CO32 = IOR 1/2 Ton Successfully
CO26 = Folk Boat (GRP)

There's no need to comment any further. The other boats are not pedigree's

Actually, There used to be some good coverage of the CO28 in the PBO. On a very serious note. The PBO used to use a Journalist called Leonard (Richard I think) who owned a CO28 and beefed it up for Biscay crossing that was covered in the pbo. He did many stories/diaries of his travels and he sold the 28 and bought a Trade wind 35. He subsequently did an article on a cruise to Ireland but sadly and somewhat ironically he and his partner, who were both very young, were killed leaving Yarmouth (I/O/W) in the car some years ago.
