There is a consultation on the use of MGO which has no 'press' - as is usual for governmental consultations to which they don't really want a response (Cynic Moi??). Here:-

There's no discussion and no format for the reply, but it might be worth folks writing in either to retain the status quo or a return to the regime we had before Brussels interfered.

(Thanks to Waterways World for noting the consultation)

If you do read it, however you will find it is nothing to do with the dispute with Brussels, nor anything really to do with using red diesel for leisure boating.

The RYA has noted and will provide a response. not really aimed at getting individual responses from the public, but from representatives of users of diesel in other industries.

Our club has been formally contacted and asked to respond as we hold and supply Red mainly for leisure and some commercial .

Scrabble around a bit and there is a sort of form for you to respond. Mostly we need to keep the diesel available for sailors or we will have to lug diesel from the local petrol station or worse.
Whether fishermen should have tax free diesel is a question for greater minds than mine. But it is currently stained red and most systems are likely to carry the stain for the foreseeable future. They could stain the fuel with detectable algeas
