OK one year of owner ship on and my clutches are still a mess.

Now having changed the halyards 10mm cruising dynema instead of 12 Polyester I am going to need to replace the cambs or the whole units.

The old problem with what?

Does any one know if these are available yet? Or how much they expect them to be?

Can the PBO types out there think of a cheaper copy ;) can it be that hard?

I have a couple of ideas, need to find some rope to play with... Then a "safe" way to test to destruction :D

Have you tried washing the ropes in washing up liquid?

It used to be the case that a lubricant was used in the weaving process, and it needed a good wash to get it out.

Could well still be that would help makeing splices in new ropes. Sadly though you just need to look at the cams to see they are not the right size... All recomendations apprechiated

I can see a probable issue with the constrictor. You winch up your halyard to whatever tension you want, but it looks to me as if, in order to work, the rope has to release a bit of tension in order to stretch out the holding socket and tighten it around the rope. When I wanted some new clutches I went for these. I find that they have good grip and do not abrade ropes as much as the conventional sharp toothed cam variety.
