hi all
surely an advertisement that plainly states 24/48hr delivery means what it says?
there is no mention of this period being "working hrs" so that surely has got to be against advertising standards, as this misleading info has now incurred me costs, where do i stand,???? the parting statement from the "manager" of the compnay concerened advised me should i post any detrimental info on his company he would pass it to the hands of his solicitors, providing i have a case that will not result in that course of action i will name and shame company and pass my complaint to the trading/advertising standars ageny,
regards
a very p****d

I have a Next Day Express Delivery option, but it doesn't include Saturday and Sunday because Parcel Force and Southern Express don't deliver those days. I think it says so on the site, but actually I'm not 100% sure, it's the kind of thing one assumes everyone accepts.

BTW the offender wasn't me.

Why is it the kind of thing everyone accepts? They deliver mail on saturday in Spain and you can collect parcels from them on saturday. Don't they do that in UK, I didn't know!

Re Umm any chance

Name and shame I say. I don't believe they have a position to defend. At our surgery, they say "allow 48 hours" for prescriptions. It would be crazy if we suddenly started to squirm and pretend that 48 hours was really "wait 1 week" when we clearly mean 2 days. We don't include weekends so drop off Friday gets pickup on Tuesday. If this spanned a weekend it may be a bit dodgy to challenge.

I'm sure most see it as that. Maybe they will be happy to change their advertising advice or compensate you if it was not over a weekend, and time was critical, and they seem to be saying '3 to 6 days!'

Re: Re Umm any chance

Does it really matter what it was, 24/48 hour service, means to me 24/48 hours, not, 8 hour working day = 3-5days! He paid for a service he did not receive, it's the principle.
