Hi,
In my hull I have some log transducer, looks like Raymarine ST300 with cut cable. I wonder if I could connect it to Target 2 Display? Plus bonus question - what kind of wire it is? Can I somehow test it alone by providing some voltage and connecting multimeter?

It's just a screened multicore cable. If you look at the Airmar website, you should be able to search for the ST300 and find the wiring colours. I've no idea whether it will work with a Target 2 display, probably depends on the range of calibration available.

simple answer is, no it won't work.

NASA log transducer has a reed switch in it which is operated as the magnets in the paddle wheel passes over. 2 wire switching.

ST300 has a hall effect sensor in it which creates a voltage pulse as the magnet passes. Requires a 5v feed and 3 wires.

either buy a Raymarine i40 speed display, or a NASA log transducer. The catch there being the NASA transducer is smaller than an ST300.

Thanks. I am not sure if the unit works, and i40 is quite expensive. I don't really need log for my day sailing, its nice to have. Now I have to patch old hole and cut the new one :(
