I need to be able to connect my Garmin handheld GPS to the serial port of my laptop so that Ican use it as a chartplotter. Does anyone know of a company that makes up connecting leads?

There are many DIY

Search the net ..... and you will find many DIY ...... eg :

http://vancouver-webpages.com/peter/index.html

or just see your local Garmin dealer ..... you should have choice of data only to serial or data to serial plus integrated 12V lead with cigar lighter plug.

I also bought mine from Lynks and it seems well made and works well. They are much cheaper than Garmin ones. Paul

Go on to ebay.co.uk and type in 'garmin gps' in the search and you'll have lots turn up - usually about half the cost of genuine Garmin leads - just make sure you get the correct one for your gps.
