Connecting cables to raymarine autopilot computer

How do I operate the instrument cable connectors on my S3G smartpilot? The manual says "Use a small screwdriver to push the small plastic lever on top of the terminal and release the cable clamp"

Which way to push? I tried up, down and in but didn't want to push hard. Nothing seemed to move. The levers look fragile!

Yes - they do look fragile. You push the tags in towards the board - hard. That opens up the cable orifice.
