Connecting a Garmin 182C to Furuno Radar

Took the plunge and decided to buy an Actisense Buffer to connect the plotter to the Radar (Furuno 1623) and the radio (Icom). I can't help it but I'm always amazed when it just...well....works.
Good bit of kit with easily (must be) understood instructions.

Why did you need an Actisense Buffer? The Garmin 182C should easily drive two listeners - it's even got 2 COM ports for NMEA out.

I want to get a NASA AIS soon and possibly more devices after that, just thought it would be a better way.
