do we know what the new owner is going to name the boat?

presume the SSR has already been ordered and that the charts etc for an inaugral cross channel are already being studied carefully!

I will leave it for thew proud new owner to show himself, I have a funny feeling he may be out in it already :-)

Now I can sell my as new Snipe 3,500kg twin axled and braked trailer that was new in June this year and only used twice. Didn't want to sell it until the boat sale went through.

See you saturday.

Thanks everyone.

In the best traditions of not changing the name too much, just going to stick 'My' in front of name. Did think of 'Too', or 'of Poole' , but all a bit predictable.

Ex SWMBO came up with the idea of 'My'. Works quite well I think. Might look interesting when GC1 and I are anchored in Studland next year, or Stand....whats it called, Creek.

Will sort out SSR, guess I'll have to get an ICC if I want to go to France. Charts? What are they?

no you don't need an ICC to go to France or the CIs etc Geoff.

Only posle need I can foresee for you would be if you went up the Rance from St Malo, beyond the tidal barrier ie through the lock. Some of the smaller locks are less likely to query it though as they don't give accesss to the inland waterways eg continuing up the Trieux beyond the first lock after Lesardrieux and mooring on the Quay at Pontrieux.

So - sort the SSR, get ensign (presume it didn't come with a red duster 'cos I never saw the previous owner fly one!) , courtesy flags are sensible because officldom do notice and seem to appreciate your having 'bothered'.........and you are in business in one of the most varied cruising area available to small boats - oh and it's cheaper over there and the grubs better!

Quite agree Geoff - and well done on the new boat - enjoy.

Mike

Spectrum TOO OF POOLE

That was funny!

The two suggestions you made were exactly the name of Mike's /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I personally think the whole "Too" and "of...." works quite well, you see a lot of it in St Tropez an Port Grimaud

No Worries Geoff /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Mine was one of two Cox and Haswell 33's - called Spectrum One and Spectrum Too - never have found out why. When I bought her the previous owner had changed the name to something dreadful and I wanted to revert to the original but someone had nicked it (Part 1 registered).

think you can take that as read Dom - probably any weekend the weather plays ball!
just need to introduce him to the breakfast at the bar place along to the right then back up the hill 200yds.........?

Now that I am YFS again hows about taking me out fishing next time you are over. See if we can get some flatties on board?
