The Spray Bars on my Settimo Velo - http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=179427293999 - have suffered some damage over the years. There are a few dings and the edges of some are a radiused in places.

I am thinking of putting in a few graving pieces and sharpening up the radiused edges. However, I am wondering just how far to go with this effort. How much difference does the condition of the spray bars make to performance?

Getting fed up?

I would have thought they would only be critical at high speed in very calm conditions. However, if it were me, I would do them.

I don't think performance will be an issue if you repair dings, with epoxy filler and subsequently paint.
The only issue is your pursuit of perfection; do you compromise or not?
Your choice my friend.
Cheers,

I don't mind investing 3 or 4 days of my time and effort in things that I can actually see (when the boat is in use) and in things that are going to make a difference. I'd be 'fed up' if I didn't do that. I'd also be 'fed up' if I did spend 3 or 4 days on something that isn't going to make any difference.

If I was yard, doing the project for a customer, then all of that would be entirely different, of course (because someone would have their cheque book open)!
