Does anyone have a fix for drying out a Navico Corus C 700 DC cockpit instrument which is obscured by internal condensation/moisture? Failing that, a C 700 DC they don't need?!!
Warm dry air via the bulb hole (if there is one) may do the trick. Best on a warm dry day so you are not trapping cold moist air in as this will condense again. Dessicant bag at back of console may help keep further moisture away.
I had the same problem, but with a B&G unit. In my case the seal around the "glass" failed, so drying out only worked for a few days...maybe a week and a half tops. Tilley's in Lymington serviced mine, it wasn't too painful ( unlike the new log transponder).
In fact its best when its Cold and dry !!!! That is when least moisture is in air.
Putting it in airing cupboard will clear it ... but then you have to be careful when bring it out again ... as the airing cupboard typically has clothes / towels etc. in providing moisture above ambient outside.
Most instruments have Nitrogen filled displays and it is supposed to be under slight positive pressure ... it would appear likely that seal has broken or leaked - so have a word with Service Agents ... they can most likely sort it ...
I would advise this course - as if the pressure has been lost - the corrosion / moisture damage will likely result after a time if not sorted..... with further ingress of moisture.
