I am looking for any other UK based Compromis 999 owners. I feel like I am the only one in the UK to own one of these lovely Dutch yachts...I will not go on to bore everyone with why they are the best 32ft yacht in the world - they just are - so deal with it :-)

Look they're Dutch they thought "Compromis" was really practical and sensible in a Dutch sort of way. ...any way - apart from goading anyone who was watching - I really did want to connect with other "C-999" owners ;-)

And how many other makes of boat in the 30'~35' range have you owned/sailed in conditions from F3 to F10 that you can make such a statement or is it you are a sailing virgin and has just bought his "dream boat"?

That's a real big boy's claim that one!

But I'm sure you can back that up.

Ok - I admit it "I asked for it"...in case I actually bump into one of you - literally or metaphorically – I will retract my claim and replace it with “arguably the best yacht in the world”.

I have achieved one of my two aims – to get the name “Compromis” into the forum in case anyone searches for it like I did !

The second aim is – truly – to find the other owners in the UK – if any of you even see a C-999 or know of one please shop them to me on this forum.

All the best…

So now you've gone from "the best 32' yacht in the world" to "arguably the best yacht in the world"

Which sounds like an even more extravagant claim!

I'll ring Mike Slade and tell him not to bother entering that massive new swing keeled toy of his into any races any more, it wouldn't look good if he got beaten by a 32' compromiss. And someone better tell the owners of all those mega yachts that for entertaining purposes they've been thoroughly trumped by this masterstroke of Dutch genius.

Now your being silly - and I said 32ft yacht BTW.

You are so "yesterday" talking about Mike Slade's dinghy - everyone knows that the real mega yacht is a submarine...see Bloomberg...

U.S. Submarines' mid-size model is the $25 million Seattle 1000, a three-story-tall vessel with five staterooms, five bathrooms, two kitchens, a gym, a wine cellar and a 30- foot-long by 15-foot-wide observation portal. It has a range of 3,000 nautical miles.

And we all know size does matter....

How big an alternator do you need ?

It sounds like Russ Altendorff is a seriously useful guy, so I'll refrain from giving him the 'ump just yet.....

If any one mentions CO 32 as the best 32 footer they need their bumps felt.
Cramped, wet, not particularly quick, the only thing they have going for them is that they are pretty to look at.

The Compo looks good (as long as you approach their website sideways and surprise it,never seen so many 404s)

Put a link into your signature to your site so that more people access it. Some really interesting stuff and well put together.

F10 - pah - I spit on your F10 ..... (I hope you are not as big or as ugly as your avatar)...;-)

[/ QUOTE ]Listen ye wee shite-hawk, I AM bigger AND uglier than my avatar (those who have had the mis-fortune to meet me will agree - WON'T YOU) and I do look forward to teaching you how to sail some day - either that or toss you overbaord as the useless piece of jetsam you are. A good F10 in the North Channel seperates the men from the boys - without the use of a crow bar) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Now, pick the bones out of that.
