Compression joints and tapoured male /parrallel female joints

As you have done nothing but scoff and make out you're such a genius, surely you have all this available as holograms from your magic ' was chemist but now master of the universe ' arse...
Shame on you, Seajet. I take it you don't have the info requested. Congratulations, Vic for not responding.

On domestic plumbing I know that it is possible to use a standard compression fitting to adapt metric to imperial by using different olives provided the size difference is small. Maybe use a 3/8" fitting and 3/8"_& 8mm olives would work. BTW ignore 'invalidate insurance' advice just make sure that whatever you do is safe. As far as PTFE/sealant is concerned I only use the former on screwed fittings (shouldn't be used on the threaded part of compression fittings), I often use Boss white on olives but don't think it makes much difference. Some authorities recommend a gas equivalent on gas pipework but I would refer the calorgas website.
Hi Folks,

This must be a common issue where a new cooker is fitted in an older boat with different pipe sizes so I open to any ideas on how it can be achieved. I have not been able to source a reducing compression joint to fit both 3/8 and 8 mm .

I should have been clearer in my original thread and that may have avoided any misunderstanding

I have stopped using PTFE tape on any threaded fitting I have used loctite thread seal or the like and now get a 100% seal every time.

The big problem with olive compression fittings is that perople and sometimes myself over tighten then and they leak.

Some high pressure hydraulic "compression fittings" how have O-rings as the seal element so the fitting nut can be tightened at much as you like without damaging the O-ring and thus the seal of the fitting.
