Our first long weekend on the boat in her new mooring in Toulon SOF.
We were here a few times last year,
but only now discovered that there are very few motor yachts in this marine,
all pictures are taken from our boat;
They do have a aircraft carryer (behind this other big navy vessel)
ferry’s to Corse,
and even one big cruise ship leaving today,
And lots of sailing boats
Weather was too bad to go out, but we nevertheless managed a lunch outside
A little later we had to cover the cockpit to keep the lady’s warm:
As posted in another tread we don’t know yet what is the hidden secret about this marina,
- Its affordable (one of the cheapest in SOF)
- Restaurants are surprisingly cheap
- we're in the center of a Big city with all facility’s nearby
- Nice old town
- 2 airports at close proximity (Marseille and Toulon)
- On the corner of cote d’azur, with nice cruising destinations such as Porquerolles islands, St Tropez, ...
I asked my neighbour resident sail boat,
he thougt prices (and attraction) are perhaps lower because of the noise and the crowd from the ferry’s to Corse and Sardegna,
And the small transit boats to the opposite half island saint Mandrier sur mèr
making some wash each day /all day, starting from 8hclock in the morning
What else is wrong here ?
