SWMBO is very new to boating and seems desperate to do everything right straight out of the box.
knots, mooring,radio....havent got to the cleaning bit yet /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
I keep telling her she will learn all she needs in good time.
keeps asking lots of questions, which are very difficult to answer when you are sitting warm and snug in front of the fire.

So is there an RYA or other video/dvd which i can put on which might give some of the answers.
of course i should really send her on a course but i would like to teach her myself
and i'm a tight wad /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I got a DVD from SWMBO for Christmas which covered most of the crew tasks, including mooring and general manoeuvres. On the basis you can only watch these things once or twice I have lent it to another forum member, who I am sure would be happy to send it to you, and then just return it back to me when you are finished Drop me a PM if you are interested.

Its strikes me that most of us must have books, DVDs and videos, that for most purposes, we only need to view once or twice, and then they gather dust. It would be good if there was an easy way to circulate these on a loan basis, each person just paying the postage to forward it onto the next person. Perhaps another forum area.

Just a thought?

That would be me then /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I think the DVD covers the basics of boat handling and crewing very well and would certainly recommend it. Let me know where you want it sending Martyn.

The idea of a dvd lending library is a damn good one, any ideas how to get it started ? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
