Having just returned from a four day jolly down the Thames to Chatham I have discovered a major hazard. A compass that reads from + 30 to - 30 degrees out. Fortunately, SWMBO was at the helm (I was in the loo) and noticed a depth drop from 7 metres depth to 0.1 metres in 10 seconds and we were on Blythe Sands. (Perhaps I should have stayed in the loo!!)
Not a problem round Windsor, but a big no no on the briney. So, anyone know of a compass adjuster in the Thames area? All answers gratefully received.
