I have a glorious piece of very good quality Lavac loo with a large Henderson pump in my heads.

I'm about to fit a holding tank.

I cannot find the water usage of each loo, (Lavac/Jabsco) on average, to compare.

Why should I need to?

I havn't room for a 150+ltr holding tank so it may be somewhere between 60-90ltr when fitted.

I'm therefore trying to assess which loo (Lavac/Jabsco) is not only successful in doing its basic requirement, but when it's done,

which one will send the least amount of water to the holding tank, each time solids are flushed in that direction?

The answer is probably a 'moveable feast'( apologies), or how long is a piece of string?

My guess after having had both types in different boats, is that the Jabsco may on average, send less water to the tank each

completed 'operation'.

Any ideas?

I think your 'piece of string'comment was quite right. Either toilet will fill the tank in one go if you wish depending on how many times you pump it! I have the Lavac/Henderson combo as well. I suppose you could experiment to see but would you want to? One trick to keep levels to a minimum was to use the pump with the lid up to clear the bowl and then lower the lid and pump again to flush. That way you only use the amount of water needed to flush an empty bowl.

Interesting idea if there was some way to prove an 'amount needed' though.....

Good luck

I think it will make little difference which toilet but length of pipework from toilet to tank will significantly affect the volume shifted as you would not want to leave waste in the pipe.
