Wind is howling, regular showers, boats bouncing all over the place.

What I had planned was to foam fill a recess on one yacht (house), finish some cosmetic gel repairs and shorten by a smidge 2 battens on another and finish carrying out a bit of strengthening work on the binnacle of a third one.

What I actually did was replace a lavac heads pump at home with tools slippin about all over the place. Oh yeah, and walk to the local chandlers in the rain to not get what I wanted.

So, thats it, decision made. Its even too windy to goto pub, so its movies for me this afternoon.

Had to set a second anchour now the bearing on the greenhouse is steady, although we seem to have sprung a leak...

Similar weather.

I have just replaced the diaphragm on the Whale Gusher galley pump.

Amazingly, got it right first time; did not put it on upside down, back to front or inside out.

Having a pint in the bar to celebrate.

Been sat behind a desk all day. Would rather have been fixing the boat, despite the weather.

Very glad I took the day off yesterday and made the new washboards, though. This entailed bringing the old ones home as templates, leaving both companionways (centre cockpit) open to the elements for most of the day. Yesterday was fine and dry; a slight drizzle started just as I was leaving the boat after putting the new boards in place. Doing it in the wet I'd have had to cock about with tarpaulins etc.

Stayed at home, daughter, husband and grandson came a visiting for mothers day.
Grandson 2 1/2 is great, he gets more interesting every time I see him :)

Yeah, grandchildren are great!

What a difference here today, stil a bit of showery cloud, but blue skies on their way, scorchio later....

Mudda Fadda kindly disregard this letter!!!

"Make and Mend" It's many a long year since I've heard that expression - thanks for bringing back a raft of happy memories!
