All joking aside, I have one on my foredeck right now, bought about 2 months ago for a temporary measure whilst installing a new generator. I hate cheap tools with a passion but on this occasion, the old girls not done bad.

Not too noisy as it runs at different speeds depending on the load. When it is sat out on my jetty, you can't really hear an offensive noise inside when running 70 amps of charger.

It's had about 70 litres of fuel though it so far with no ill effects.

Bear in mind my current generator is a cheap open-frame 3kW - I used to pack a long extension reel with it so I could tuck it away on the other side of the boatyard amongst the abandoned projects with the exhaust pointed out over the mudflats

My bar for a “quieter” genny is not very high

Honda eu1000i has a noise level of 50dB for comparison. So noisy. Quite noisy.

It has an external earth fitting on the front of it, if you should need to. Can see it in the picture.

Excellent, I've been waiting for the price drop on this as the pile in my local Aldi has barely gone down since it first came in 6 or so months ago. I wasn't expecting that much of a reduction though. Think I'll add one to my already excessive generator collection!

If you wait a while you can usually pick one up second hand at a boat jumble for £50. I got mine off of that CCJ geezer.
