Hello there,

I've been searching on the forum but could not find any thread about comparing the two combustion air silencer.

I have a D2 but came without the silencer, therefore it does sound like a jet engine. I'd like to use either the silencer from Eberspacher or Webasto, however, the one from Eberspacer is about 0.5m long that might not fit. :(

Is anyone here was able to compare the two? Which silencer works better and makes the noise more acceptable? I'd rather go with the one from Eber as it seems like the one that absorbs more sound. I could fiddle around with it if it's worth it.

Here is the link for both.

Oops, pull your air filter and run your engine Martyn and you will notice a huge difference in sound and noise levels.

Well, not sure. I have the exhaust silencer and it still sounds like that. That is why I'm thinking to get the on the intake.

I have heard that it's the intake that is responsible for much of the noise, and know that's the case with e.g. motorcycle engines. I am sure you and your neighbours will appreciate it if you can find one that will fit the space you have available.
