I'm in the proces of upgrading my C80 to one E120.
Instead of placing a second E120, I am considering to buy a diplay with side scan sonar

from Humminbird:
http://store.humminbird.com/products/271398/1197c_SI_Combo

or from Lowrance:
http://www.lowrance.com/en/Products/Marine/Broadband-Sounder-and-Ethernetworking/StructureScan/

this type of sonar would be added value for the diving for finding submerged objects.

now the thing is that this sonar option is only available on Multi function display's. I don't mind to buy such a display for this purpose only,
But I am wondering if somebody knows a clever way to combine / interconnect two different brand display's

All three brands use Navionics charts, but it would be silly having to buy the charts twice, to be able to use them simultaniously on two display's

Oh yes, and a pair of E120's would look so much nicer on the dash, than one 120E side by side with another brands display :)

Selling the Raymarine stuff would be an option and replacing everything with one other brand, but I don't want to do that as I am used to it, and like it.
When will Raymarine bring new sonar technology ?

As far as i'm aware you'll need to buy two charts, the two different makes will not fully integrate. I'd also avoid Lowrance as their support is very poor and they seem to be having problems with the structure scan. I'd look at the Hummingbird system with a view to using it as stand alone sonar if you want sidescan.

have heard some negative coments about Lowrance support myself,
but have been looking on the net for revieuws on the structure scan, and could not find any negative comment,
not many positive comments neither, apparently the unit is still quite new,
But the price is lot more attractive for "only use as extra sonar" compared to Humminbird.
