Hi, I am new to the site so finding my way around,
Can anyone help with my engine/gearbox installation on Colvic 22'6" seaworker what would be a suitable engine in terms of HP, the boat is to be used for weekend fishing trips, the gearbox seems to be causing me a problem also because of the angle of the prop shaft what would be the maximum angle the engine can safely run at. What would have been a tipical "factory setup".

Hi i had a 2.8 deisel in mine and a 2_1 gearbox, direct to prop with a shaft but some go for speed in the form of an inboard outdrive leg. to plane......good luck with it i found mine to be a good boat,i took 12 anglers in it no probs .......

Had one for a number of years in the 80s, took me all over the south coast from Hastings to Solent and out to mid channel day fishing .

Engine was inboard Ford industrial XLD 4 cylinder diesel with 2 : 1 gearbox ( much the same as I have in present yacht set up which is now 20 years old). Just routine running checks, oil changes only when needed etc etc

Never let me down even though I did some pretty dumb arse things with the weather and other stuff.
