Hi I'm looking for a new to me boat 25ft ish and came across a fin keel Colvic sailer 26. I've googled till my fingers bled but cant find any info on them or what they sail like? has anyone sailed one? I've read a few threads on here regarding the bilge keel version but i'm unable to find any comments good or bad on the fin keel version.

Might be worth looking at yachtsnet archive.

I stand to be corrected - but I think that Colvic started by using moulds from other established classes, after they lost their popularity, which they bought cheap.
If you could find what the origin of the "Colvic 26" was - it might help your search.

kds,

I think you'll find most Colvics were their own designs, but usually similar to popular mainstream boats; the Countess 33 is rather like the Westerly 33 for example.

Personally I wouldn't expect more than plodding performance from a Sailer 26, even fin keel; safe and roomy, but I suspect the engine would be used a fair bit.
