Almost impossible to call from that angle, but my money would be on the red spinnaker boat copping the penalty there. (Confusingly not the boat actually called RED - which is the white spinnaker boat)
Very much doubt that either boat would see that as a real "fault" incident though. Just one of those things.
Very surprised to see RED broaching in that situation though - those guys are **** hot.
Interesting from a damage point of view the difference that having a bowsprit can make. Looked like a relatively small puncture through the hull of Red.
Sans proboscis, the attacking stem head would have made a bigger hole with lots more crushing etc.
My experience is of course only with fibreglass. Any modern hull specialists comment?
