big boat is the overtaking boat (or something is seriously wrong) so should keep clear until safely past. Allowing for perspective, he probably is doing.

What's your point.?

The pipsqueak hardly blankets the leeward (vulnerable /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif) yacht does it?

The big boat is probably doing twice the speed of the smaller one so not really posing a problem for them.

Thats one large yacht, do you know what she is?

looks like a heavy swell for Windermere /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The "little one" looks about 35 ft Big one must be 100 ft or so.i would rather sail a mirror dinghy in a gravel pit than put on a poncy white uniform and crew on that.

Couldnt think of anything humorous so had a mini rant instead /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Yes

And very sensible passing to lee, even if a little closer than might be ideal.

Had he passed to weather he would have blanked the smaller yacht and left him without drive on a rocky lee shore.

Not for long though .I bet there doing 10 knots plus at least. I know a skipper that deliverede some of the Mirabellas. He said it was quite a strange experience overhauling small ships /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif The picture looks to me like it is shortened by a long lens.
