Our red cockpit cover has faded badly over the last 2 years in Spain. The canvas is still sound and I wonder if products like 'renovo' would be effective
We are considering making a new one . Who are the best UK people to deal with for the canvas, edging trim, thread and needles? We have used sunbrella ( ?) canvas in the past and it was fine. We have had a disaster with cheap so called UV resistant thread and zips so want to deal with a reputable company!!
We ( well, the boss!) have been using our domestic fancy machine but want to get something a bit more heavy duty any recommendations ( cant afford sailrite!)
Does red fade more than other colours ( it seems to be the worst car colour in our experience!)
Thanks all.

Well if you are still in Spain, I will try to research with some good old fashion dry-cleaners for dyeing.

Infact, the name for dry cleaner in Spain is literally " dyer" (tintoreria).

I have had great success with Renovo but using dark blue on faded light blue. It does make the material a bit stiffer, as if it had
a type of starch in it but it had renewed my sprayhood, dodgers and sail covers. Care must be taken to brush on away from the decks
as it will stain grp and is difficult to clean off. Internet prices vary so well worth a time consuming search.

Thanks for that, yes Spain ( Burriana) is our home base!
The only 'tinto' we are familiar with is the red wine! Dying faded fabrics must be more common in Spain than UK I guess. Does re-dying produce an even result? Our cover is unevenly faded ( as you can see).
Thanks again

Definitely in Castellon or Villareal, there must be some tintorerias ready to dye the cover to an acceptable standard.
Just imagine the millions of balcony awnings that will be refurbish in Southern Spain…
I will have a look for you on the net. Let’s see what can I find for you

Tintorería Canut
Calle L'Esperança, 16, 12530 Borriana (It has got good reviews)

Helen
Carrer Jardí, 20 12530 Borriana (She may not do it. However, her reviews are in English. If she speaks english, probably she can indicate to you who can do the dying locally). Tel: 964 51 03 53

Tintoreria Carmen
Carrer Mare de Déu del Pilar, 15, 12530 bjo, Castelló

Great stuff, many thanks. We will start with a query to the Borriana Tintoreria.
