I need to replace my forestay and the halyard on this model (flexible 3mm wire) goes up to a block on the lower part of top swivel and then down to the furling drum unit where it is tied off. The top part of the swivel unit is fixed to the forestay.

Any idea how this is fixed - I suppose it wil be apparent when I take it down but I want to minimise the sailing downtime so would like to know what to expect?

Take it down & try it. I had to strip mine a few years ago when part of the telescopic bottle screw bit failed. I can't remember how far I stripped it but everything seemed quite simple.

Just dne this job on my 'new' boat. On mine the block is mounted on a slug that fits in the top of the slot for the sail. It needed some -er - 'persuasion' to part company being stainless in alloy!

I could not see how to thread the new forestay with its end fittings through the luff spar, without taking the whole thing to the rigging shop, so made up the new forestay with norseman / stalock type terminals in situ. Fortunately my boat uses 5mm wire so it was quite straightforward, but I think there must be some other way of doing it 'properly' as the original wire terminals were normal rolled swage type.

thanks - I think I will have a stay made up with one one end free for a swageless fitting but oldharry do you recall how the top part of the swivel at the top was stopped from rotating round the stay when the foil is rotated?
