Seems to be a fault on my original post. I'll try again.
Does anyone know if there's anywhere on the upper Colne for a safe overnight stop? I hear there are pontoons at Wivenhoe but haven't had this confirmed. I want to try and visit friends in Rowhedge this weekend and will be cruising in the area.

Regards, Mudhook

Yep - Pontoons at Wivenhoe, you can also tie up at Rowhedge - careful of the new houses - they are unfriendly!

The both dry out though.

PM me if you want more details

Mudhook. Yes, there are a couple of pontoon moorings @ W.S.C.on Starbd hand as you come up river just before the barrier, one across the tide, and one with/against, both dry out and you will sit in soft mud. Facilities of club are made available.....no charge,( for short stay) but hoped for donation to RNLI> Regards Tony W.
