Collecting boat on 30th Oct - need a trailer

Hi, I've popped a wanted advert on the forum and am currently searching t'internet for a decent roadworthy trailer to collect the new boat on 30th Oct, so have a little over 2 weeks to source one.

I'm looking for something along the lines of a roller coaster trailer suitable for transporting a 25ft boat weighing circe 3000kg

If anyone knows of someone wanting to free up their driveway, please do ask them to get in touch.

Many Thanks Gary

I can offer you mine, with some tips how to use it,
would be the perfect size,
but I'm afraid that i am too far away / too costly to collect and return,
(Belgium, Hasselt)

Hi Gary,
Do you want to buy one or borrow one?

If the idea is to buy one then it might take you a while before a second hand one turns up, we had the same trouble when trying to source a trailer capable of load around 2500kg.

Trouble with trailers of this size is they are highly sought after.
Don't forget they are weighty items themselves typically 600-800kg unloaded.
It might be worth looking at new, for the difference in price it's probably going to be the best bet.
Budget for around £3000 for that sort of size.
I have seen a couple of trailers for sale at boatyards (ex yard collection/delivery) might be worth looking at EBY and similar.
Good luck with your search

Here's one (new)

But this second hand one would do nicely for the right money;

Call Essexboatyards. They have about 5, bought new by EBY and used for deliveries towed by EBY's fleet of RR Sports. I seem to remember someone there telling me recently that 1 or 2 might be surplus and for sale. I'm not at all sure, so sorry for wasting time if it turns out the one you'd want isn't for sale, but maybe worth a quick call.

i was at eby yesterday and they had several large trailers near the office part but didnt see any for sale sighns but may be worth asking them.

That's weird - the used one is £50 dearer than the new one.

Got to say I'm now confused too, the new price from South Coast Boat Trailers for the R4 3500EL is £2950 + Vat

The one in the link is brand new but cancelled order, advertised at £2900 + Vat

Doesn't look like much of a saving but when vat added it's over £100 off.

We Had an SBS R4/2500b (I think) trailer made, picked it up from the factory in Wolverhampton, build time approx 6 weeks, so if desperate for one it represents a small saving in cost but nill waiting time for build.

never ceases to amaze me how wonderful the folk of this forum are.. deposit paid to EBY to secure a 1 year old Bramber Rollered trailer that's never been in the water and currently supporting a Four Winns 258 so should easily support my Rinker 250... will be collecting wc 25/10, sorted

those who pointed me at EBY are due on pint on me if ever we meet:)

i may be going back to eby on tuesday ( work permiting) to look at another boat with a friend. if you need i can take some piccies.

that's a very kind offer but the trailer's off site until wc 25th Oct. I've asked for a photo to be sent over as he was looking at it as we were talking.
